What experiences do members share?
Hello!
This document is designed to support community members through participation in Community Shared Experiences. Whether facilitating, partaking or creating, this document is both a site of resources and information, and a rubric for best practice.
Shared Experiences are a fundamental part of how we engage with this Community. Ensuring that all Shared Experiences are safe, structured and celebrated is vital to our being a flourishing and joyous shared space.
Thank you for being here - we can’t wait to see you!
What Counts As Shared Experiences?
As we are an online community, Shared Experiences refers specifically to time shared with other members synchronously, i.e. at the same time, or live. It refers to online and in-person gatherings of community members, including meetings, rituals, hangouts, presentations, conferences, and dinner parties.
What kinds of Shared Experiences does the community offer?
This is really up to you! Some Shared Experiences are a permanent fixture organised by the Shared Experiences pod - for example, the monthly New Members Ritual to greet and onboard new members of the community.
Most Shared Experiences however, are designed and led by community members. Examples might include a monthly book club, a one-off lecture series, a regional dinner party for local alumni to you, an online poetry night. There are infinite ways we can be together and enjoy one another’s company - if you want to see something hosted by the Community, bring it yourself!
The current established Shared Experiences can be found in the Community Calendar, with new ones announced in the Shared Experiences channel in Discord.
