How does the community define success?
We define success by what keeps us going, by what keeps this Community alive. Aliveness for this Community means:
- Continuously engaged and active members;
- Feelings of belonging, trust and ownership;
- Dialogue and conversation;
- Maintaining old relationships and forming new ones;
- Acts of generosity and real world change;
- Processes, how we do things, are as beautiful as the outcomes;
- The community will be relevant, meaningful and fun, so that members will always feel like engaging with it.
To be alive, to keep the Community going, means we must be mindful of the practicalities, what makes the Community viable:
- Financial Resilience - that we have the money, or other means of exchange, to carry out our purpose, but to be mindful of how it can limit as well as enable;
- Responsibility to the Membership - is the community useful for the members it serves? Are there sufficient numbers of members to maintain a healthy community? Are we responding to members needs? Are members, and the more than human, flourishing from our work?
- Keeping one foot in the world we wish to bring into being, whilst also keeping the lights on.
